Hi, Biodiversos!!!!


You are doing great jobs with the understanding of plants. But we are getting to the end of the unit and I would like you to do these activities this week, as a review of the unit and as optional activities:


  • Read page 61 of the book, to learn about the threats to plant life on Earth.
  • On pages 62 and 63, do activities 1, 2, 3 and 6.
On Friday, I will open a Socrative activity related to this unit, which is obligatory and marked for evaluation. For doing it, you will have to follow this steps:
  1. Go to https://b.socrative.com/login/student/
  2. Room name: ENGLISHWITHESTHER
  3. Do the test, and do it only once!!! It will be open from 12.00 to 17.00.

Hi, Biodiversos!!!! This week we are going to work on Forces and revise the rest of the unit... I am going to try to make a short explanation, trying to keep it simple (but read pages 76 and 77, too): FORCE : push or pull acting on an object. It makes changes in the object: shape or position (speed or direction). Non-contact forces : objects involved don't touch each other. Some examples are gravity (between the Earth and other objects, it makes objects fall in direction to the centre of the Earth) and magnetism (between magnetic minerals and metals). Behaviour of magnets. They have two poles: north and south. If two poles are different, they attract each other; if they are the same, they repel each other. Contact forces : objects involved touch each other. Here we have friction (between two surfaces that move at different speeds - one of them can be stopped - and make them slow down and stop) and buoyancy (which makes resistance on objects to sink in a liqu...

Actividad Comprensión Lectora: Excursión al Teide Por cierto, es un volcán impresionante, ¿lo veis en la foto? Lo habéis hecho muy bien, creo que era fácil, ¿no?                                  Ahí van las soluciones: 1 A 2 A 3     - No hace ni frío ni calor y se está muy a gusto.    - Un cuaderno para apuntar observaciones, impresiones, ideas...    - Las cañadas son las zonas donde se acumulan sedimentos del volcán, por ellas transitaban    personas y animales antes de que El Teide  se convirtiera en Parque Nacional. 4 No entran en el observatorio pero hacen una parada.
